Economic Analyst Intern


The Consumer Electronics Association has an exciting opportunity for an Economics Analyst Intern. This position is primarily responsible for assisting staff in researching a wide range of macroeconomic, microeconomic and international issues; along with providing assistance in making charts and analyzing data.

Critical Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in identifying and creating new datasets and developing new research
• Assist in providing quantitative analysis for public policy objectives
• Assist in creating forecasts of domestic and global economic variables
• Assist in the analysis of consumer research findings using advanced economic techniques
• Assist other team within CEA's market research department as needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Experience:
Previous experience as a research assistant is desirable, but not required.

Education/Training:
• The ideal candidate should have completed or be working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in economics or other related field
• Familiarity with STATA or willingness to learn STATA
• Familiarity with economic literature a plus
• Self-starter that can work independently, complete projects with little supervision, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Must possess excellent written and oral communications skills

Additional Information:
• Duration of this internship is from June through August 2008
• This position requires a minimum 35 hour work week and has a pay rate of $14.00/hr.
