Intern, CES Operations
The Consumer Electronics Association has an exciting opportunity for an Intern in CES Operations. This position is a hands-on learning experience, providing support to the CES Operations department as they manage pre-show and on-site logistics planning for the
2009 International CES.
Critical Duties and Responsibilities:1. Support the CES Operations team and assist with projects including, but not limited to:
- Manage exhibitor calls and questions pertaining to the CES Exhibitor Manual and other pre-show planning tools
- Maintain exhibitor and vendor correspondence
- Assist in submitting CES work orders and sign requirements
- Manage approval process and database for exhibitor appointed contractors program before and during CES
- Assist Operations team in preparing contracts, invoices and check requests
- Prepare office requirements and staff shipment to Las Vegas
- Plan catering requirements
- Other related projects and duties as assigned
2. Possible travel to Las Vegas in January to assist team with:
- Provide exhibitor support
- Execute staff work orders
- Monitor shuttle buses and transportation plans
- Coordinate return staff shipment to Arlington
- Other related projects and duties as assigned
Work Experience:
Customer service and/or event management experience is preferred, but not required
Must be comfortable with working in a team-oriented environment, and talking on the phone with challenging customers
Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task
Some prior office experience is preferred
Education/Training:
Currently enrolled in a four-year degree program, or a recent graduate, preferably in the field of event management or marketing
Additional Information:
Candidate must have strong communication skills and an outgoing personality
Duration of this internship is from June 2008 through January 2009
This position requires a minimum 20-25 hour work week and has a pay rate of $14/hr.
