Library Intern
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has an exciting opportunity for a Research Library intern. The successful candidate will gain experience working alongside librarians in a special research library focused on the consumer electronics industry, market research and business.
Critical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to daily current awareness listing on consumer electronics market.
- Learn and perform database management, indexing and abstracting, basic cataloging.
- Learn and perform general library marketing such as updating web content.
- Organize library materials.
- Answer reference questions from staff and members.
- Specialized project(s) as per interest and skills.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Basic computer skills required, especially Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent search skills
- Effective customer service focus
- Knowledge of Nexis, Factiva, basic HTML, social media and SharePoint a plus.
Education/Training:
- Bachelor's degree required and candidate should currently be enrolled in a library science/information masters program.
Additional Information:
- This internship is for credit only (unpaid) and requires 15-20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters; 35 hours per week during the summer semester.
- Internship runs for 12 weeks each fall, spring and summer semester
