Manager, Market Research
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) seeks a Market Research Manager to be responsible for managing all aspects of CEA's Consumer Research (CRS) program. This position will work with both members and internal CEA staff to determine primary research needs of members and the CE industry, design projects to meet those needs, manage the execution of those projects and the distribution of analytic deliverables.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with CEA members and internal CEA staff to identify primary research projects that will benefit CEA membership and the CE industry.
- Manage the execution of primary qualitative and quantitative research projects -- including budgets, identification of objectives, methodology, sampling, data collection instrument development, analysis and reporting.
- Coordinate the activities of internal and external resources involved in the execution of projects, including CEA staff, fielding agencies, temporary staff, and consultants.
- Analyze and interpret primary research data, produce written summaries and present findings to internal and external audiences as needed.
- Communicate directly with staff and member audiences about Consumer Research, including use of the members.CE.org website, email, teleconferences, newsletters, in-person meetings, etc.
- Manage the distribution of Consumer Research deliverables to internal and external audiences.
- Develop research requests for proposals, evaluate research vendors, and manage vendor relationships as needed.
- Provide support for Strategic Research projects when necessary, including project management, analysis and presentations.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications; etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree with concentration in marketing or market research.
- Minimum of five (5) years market research experience. Experience should include project management, project design and analysis.
- Experience formulating and managing both quantitative and qualitative consumer research projects
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Advanced and extensive project management, consumer research design, analysis, and report writing experience.
- Extremely organized with the ability to work on and manage multiple projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Positive outlook and unequaled dependability.
- Ability to think creatively and analytically.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- PC proficiency using the Internet, Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint) and statistical analysis software, such as SPSS.
- A solid understanding of the consumer electronics industry is desired but not required
