Audiobooks The CEA audiobooks initiative promotes implementation of the compatibility requirements described in the standards CEA-2003-C and CEA-2004. These standards define characteristics for spoken audio content and players that improve the listening experience for consumers. For example these standards define automatic bookmarking, which is a feature that enables an audiobook player to remember the point in the book that was playing when the player was last turned off, provided that the media (CD, etc.) is not removed from the player. They also define, among other things, fast forward and fast reverse features that enable listeners to move forward and backward in the book. Products that comply with CEA's audiobook standards may carry the CEA/APA audio book logo. Please click here for more information about the logo program. |
