Tomorrow marks the first official day of summer, which for many Americans evokes images of vacations and traveling. Unfortunately, with record high gas and oil prices, this summer also brings to mind images of higher energy costs. CEA APPLAUDS NEW ENERGY STAR SPECIFICATION FOR DIGITAL TELEVISIONS
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® today applauded the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) announcement of an updated ENERGY STAR specification for digital televisions (DTVs), a move CEA says will lead to further reductions in the amount of energy consumed by digital televisions.

2008 INTERNATIONAL CES GOES GREEN
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® today announced that the 2008 International CES® is taking unprecedented steps to "go green" by reducing its carbon footprint and with the use of sustainable and energy efficient practices. Produced by CEA, the 2008 International CES, the world’s largest tradeshow for consumer technology, will run January 7-10, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

INDUSTRY RECOMMENDS TIPS FOR SAVING ENERGY WITH ELECTRONICS
The dog days of summer are here. And, as Americans stay cool, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®) and the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) say technology can be a part of the energy-saving solution. By increasing control over home cooling and lighting systems and enabling remote access to information and entertainment, electronics allow consumers to save energy, save fuel and protect the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

CALIFORNIA'S NEW ENERGY CONSUMPTION REGULATION FOR DIGITAL TELEVISION ADAPTERS
The following statement was issued today by Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®) President and CEO Gary Shapiro and National Association of Broadcasters President and CEO David K. Rehr regarding the California Energy Commission's (CEC) mandatory regulation for digital television (DTV) adapters.
