Description
Your company’s Intellectual Property (IP) may be its most valuable asset. The consumer electronics industry encounters all forms of IP – utility patents, design patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. Has your company fully recognized, protected and exploited its Intellectual Property assets? Failure to do so can result in unnecessarily conceding your competitive market advantage. On the flip side, before your company launches a new product, it should ensure that the product does not infringe upon the rights of others.
Participants will learn
This two-part series will provide participants with an introduction to intellectual property.
Part one will focus on utility patents, design patents and trade secrets, including the requirements and process for securing protection.
Part two, "What Every Small Business Should Know About Intellectual Property - Trademarks, Copyrights and Domains" on May 15th will focus on trademark, copyright and domain name issues, including non-traditional trademarks and anti-counterfeiting.
Who should attend
Anyone seeking an introduction to IP or an update on recent IP developments affecting the industry.
