Mark your calendar and join CE industry technical experts at the 2013 Spring Technology & Standards Forum at the JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek May 20 – 23 in Denver. This is an exciting opportunity to network with engineering leaders across many product categories as they consider, develop, and finalize crucial CE standards. CEA standards promote product safety, interoperability and performance optimization in an effective and efficient environment.
Don't miss this opportunity to:
Contribute your company's view on emerging technology standards
Participate in CEA's streamlined standards development
Promote new CE standards critical to your company's business
Network with other CE professionals
Be there to influence the technical course of the CE industry.
John Brzozowski from Comcast Cable will provide insight for manufacturers as they prepare to build products and services that rely on IPv6. Stephen Palm from Broadcom will update participants on Wi-Fi Direct and Miracast. And finally, CEA's own Chris Ely will provide an up-to-date analysis of CE market trends.
In addition to a full line up of standards committee meetings, we have several special events. On Wednesday, May 22 there will be two Discovery Group meetings. The TV/Internet Standards Discovery Group
will explore the challenges and opportunities ahead as more consumers tune in to Internet-delivered video. How will the broadcast and cable industries benefit from this trend by enhancing the traditional TV viewing experience? What standards must be developed to smooth the transition to more consumer-friendly Internet delivered content? The Intelligent Transportation Systems Discovery Group
will focus on vehicle-to-vehicle technologies, the impact on infotainment, and the prospects for the automotive aftermarket. Testing is demonstrating that accidents and fatalities can be reduced by technology, and government agencies will soon decide whether to require or recommend these systems for the next generation of smart vehicles and highways. How can the current standards be extended to create opportunities for more companies to participate? What factors can accelerate the development of products from research to reality?
These Discovery Groups will bring together leaders from service providers, the federal government, and the CE industry. Presentations will be followed by an open discussion to determine how CEA can further the advancement of standards and other technical projects to facilitate these exciting, new technologies.
Anyone with an interest in these subjects is encouraged to attend.
