CEA Names Eight Industry Leaders to the 2015 CE Hall of Fame

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® announced the 2015 class of inductees into the Consumer Electronics (CE) Hall of Fame last night at its annual Digital Patriot’s Dinner. The CE Hall of Fame, created in 2000, honors visionaries in the consumer technology industry who have advanced innovation and developed a foundation for the consumer technologies we enjoy today and others yet to come. CEA, CEDIA, InfoComm Release Joint Architectural Drawing Symbols Standard

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association’s (CEDIA) R10 Residential Systems committee and InfoComm Internationalannounced yesterday the publication of ANSI Standard J-STD-710 Audio, Video and Control Architectural Drawing Symbols. This new standard defines a common set of blueprint icons that represents all facets of pre-wire and installation of electronic systems, products and devices in residential and commercial environments.  “This is a milestone for the industry, since there has been a huge void in symbols representations for the low-voltage industry,” said Walt Zerbe, product manager, audio, OnQ Legrand and NuVo; and Chairman of CEA’s R10 Residential Systems Committee. CEA to University Presidents: Protect Our Innovators, Support Patent Reform

Today, the presidents and chairmen of the boards of 145 universities that oppose the Innovation Act (H.R.9) received letters from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® urging them to reverse their resistance to the bill and remove their institution’s name from a February 24 opposition letter. The bill is fair, common-sense legislation that would curb abusive patent litigation by patent trolls, while protecting inventors, innovative companies, research institutions and licensors such as universities.
