On Tuesday, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced that the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® is an inaugural member of its Disability Advisory Committee (DAC). The following statement is attributed to Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, regarding the joint letter from CEA, BSA | The Software Alliance, Computer and Communications Industry Association, Information Technology Industry Council, The Internet Association, Semiconductor Industry Association, Silicon Valley Leadership Group and TechNet urging congressional leaders to swiftly pass updated Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) legislation: "Congress’ last extension of presidential trade promotion authority expired almost eight years ago. And since the passage of U.S. free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and Korea in 2011, no trade agreements have been passed by Congress." Full Release
