The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® is pleased to announce the publication of its Accessibility Resource Center, a resource guide that helps CEA members meet the new upcoming federal accessibility requirements. With the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) implementation of the Communications and Video Accessibility Act of 2010 (CVAA) winding down – and compliance deadlines beginning – CEA has compiled its guides, comments, and other actions into a single resource for quick reference.

CEA and Parks Associates Find Twenty Percent of U.S. Broadband Households To Acquire One or More Smart Home Devices Within the Next Year

A new survey released today by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® and Parks Associates shows continued strong growth of smart home products in U.S. homes, as 20 percent of households with broadband intend to acquire one or more smart home devices within the next year. According the study Internet of Things:  Smart Home Devices and Controllers, which examines the marketplace for smart home devices and systems, half (48 percent) of those surveyed who own a smart home device are under 35-years-old. New Study Shows Consumer Interest in More Affordable, Easier-to-Purchase Hearing Loss Solutions

A new study released today of adult Americans with hearing loss, shows that only one in 25 of those surveyed  now own Personal Sound Amplification Products (PSAPs) and nearly 40 percent are interested in over-the-counter products to help them hear better. Additionally, more than two-thirds of those consumers want a more streamlined process for purchasing hearing assistance products.

Holiday Season Tech Spending to Reach Record Levels, According to CEA’s 21st Annual Holiday Forecast

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® predicts the 2014 holiday season will see the highest levels of consumer spending on consumer electronics (CE) since CEA began tracking holiday spending in 1994. According to CEA’s holiday outlook released today, total tech spending during the holidays will increase 2.5 percent (up from 0.9 percent growth in 2013) to reach a record $33.76 billion during the 2014 holiday season.
