CEA Names 15 Industry Leaders to be Inducted into The 2013 CE Hall Of Fame
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® today announced the 2013 class of inductees into the Consumer Electronics (CE) Hall of Fame. The CE Hall of Fame, created in 2000, honors visionaries in the consumer technology industry who advance innovation and build a strong foundation for others to follow.

Most U.S. Flyers Brought Portable Electronic Devices on Planes in the Last Year, Nearly 30 Percent Accidently Left Them Turned On
Ninety-nine percent of adult airline passengers who travel with a portable electronic device (PED) – such as a smartphone or tablet – carried at least one PED onboard with them while traveling in the past 12 months, with seven in ten (69 percent) reporting they used their devices during flight, according to a new joint study released today by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) and the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®. The study, Portable Electronic Devices on Aircraft, gauges consumer usage and awareness concerning PEDs on airplanes. The results of this study have been shared with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as it reviews its policies for inflight PED use. Full Release

CEA Announces New Standard Group for Connected Home and Smart Energy
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® announced today that it is forming the R7.8 Working Group 2 to develop a new standard to enable home electronics to communicate energy use data to smart energy management systems and apps. The new standard will be called CE-Energy Usage Information (CE-EUI) and will conform to the North American Energy Standards Board Energy Usage Information (NAESB -EUI) model, which forms the basis for the national Green Button initiative. 2013 CE Week Line Shows Conference Program to Feature CEA and Aereo 1:1 Keynote Discussion; Conference Sessions from CNET, Engadget, Mashable, PCWorld/TechHive, Polygon
CE Week announced today an innovative new lineup of keynotes and conference sessions from the most well known names in the technology industry. The 2013 CE Week Line Shows and Exhibits are scheduled for June 26-27 at the Metropolitan Pavilion and Altman Building in New York City. This event is the official show headquarters of a weeklong series of CE technology events taking place in the city over the course of CE Week, June 24-28.
