Every 45 minutes in the United States, a child is rushed to the emergency room for injuries caused by televisions that are not properly secured. To help prevent these TV tip-over incidents, National TV Safety Day raises awareness about TV tip-overs, and educates parents and caregivers on the simple things they can do to make their homes safer. Today the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) closed bidding in its auction of the AWS-3 spectrum band, bringing in nearly $45 billion for the United States Treasury. The record-breaking auction far exceeded the FCC’s initial estimate of just over $10 billion, showing the massive size of the spectrum economy. Research center works to create connections, power innovation and boost efficiency
Today the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® announced its formal partnership with the California Plug Load Research Center (CalPlug), joining the center in its efforts to advance energy efficiency, environmental quality and economic growth. Already among CalPlug’s founding advisory board members, with this new financial support for the center CEA now becomes CalPlug’s largest private-sector donor and a Core Supporter alongside the California Energy Commission and Public Utilities Commission.
