2006 Digital Imaging Forecast

The digital photography market will continue to see more segmentation representative of a maturing category as prosumers and advanced amateurs seek more feature-laden and megapixel packed options rather than styling at the high end, while high-value models broaden the adoption market at the entry level. In the middle, consumers will find more megapixel bang for their buck, a design to reflect their lifestyles, larger viewfinders on the camera back and expanded print options. With 2006 being a Photokina year, expect even more advances in digital camera technology to hit the market in 2007. In addition, look for more CE companies to partner with or acquire traditional photo manufacturers as they continue to enter this space.
