INTERNATIONAL CES ANNOUNCES NEW KIDS@PLAY SUMMIT
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® and Living in Digital Times Inc., founded by industry veteran Robin Raskin, today announced Kids@Play: Building a Smarter Tomorrow, a conference and exhibition slated for the 2009 International CES®. Produced by CEA, the 2009 International CES, the world's largest tradeshow for consumer technology, returns to Las Vegas, January 8-11.

CEA LAUNCHES MOBILE DTV INTEREST GROUP
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® seeks participation in a new Special Interest Group to address A/153 - the mobile/handheld addition to the Advanced Television Systems Committee’s (ATSC) broadcast digital television standards in the United States. The ATSC is working to complete the new standard which will allow digital television (DTV) broadcasts beyond the living room. The new capability, called ATSC Mobile/Handheld (M/H), allows TV broadcasters to use part of their signal to deliver services that can be reliably received by handheld receiving units and receivers in moving vehicles.

SILVERS SUMMIT TO DEBUT AT THE 2009 INTERNATIONAL CES

CEA OPENS NOMINATIONS FOR 2009 MARK OF EXCELLENCE AWARDS HONORING CUSTOM HOME ELECTRONICS
The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® today opened entries for the 2009 Mark of Excellence Awards, presented by CEA’s TechHome Division to honor outstanding achievement in custom home electronics products, services and installation. Winners will be announced at an awards dinner on Friday, March 13, 2009 at the Rosen Centre Hotel, during the tenth annual Electronic House Expo (EHX) Spring 2009, which returns to the Orange County Convention center in Orlando, Florida, March 10-14.

CEA APPLAUDS PASSAGE OF BROADBAND ACT
The Broadband Data Improvement Act of 2008 (S.1492), which mandates improvement to broadband data collection by the federal government, passed the House and Senate and now proceeds to the White House for final enactment. The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® today applauded passage of this key legislation as advancing the deployment of broadband by better identifying underserved areas in our nation and providing a roadmap for the development of initiatives to address deployment gaps.
