Innovations 2007 Design and Engineering Awards

Make sure to see the products acknowledged as this year's most outstanding developments in engineering and design, at Innovations Plus at the Sands Expo and Convention Center.

The Innovations Design and Engineering Awards, one of the most distinguished consumer technology awards programs, is sponsored by CEA and endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), the voice of industrial design, committed to advancing the profession through education, information, community and advocacy.

The Innovations Design and Engineering Awards is an annual competition which honors outstanding design and engineering in consumer electronics products. Since 1989, the prestigious Innovations Design and Engineering Awards have given consumer technology manufacturers and developers an opportunity to have their newest products judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade press.

The Innovations 2007 awards represent 29 product categories ranging from audio accessories to biometrics to home networking to video accessories. New categories in 2007 include digital imaging, eco-design, enabling technologies, home theater accessories, home theater audio, mobile audio, mobile electronics, mobile video, video displays, wireless communications and wireless peripherals.

To qualify for the competition, entrants must manufacture, design or develop products marketed in the United States and commercially available at retail outlets to U.S. consumers between January 1, 2005 and June 30, 2006.

Innovations entries are judged by independent designers, engineers and members of the press. Each judgment is based on engineering qualities of the product, including technical specifications and materials used; the product's intended use/function and user value; aesthetic and design qualities (using visuals provided); unique and novel features; contributions to consumers' quality of life; and impact on the manufacturer's business model. Products chosen as an Innovations honoree reflect innovative design and engineering of the entries.

Innovations 2007 Product Displays
