What does the standard cover?
The standard provides detailed information about cabling and connectors for use in multi-room audio systems and distribution networks. It also provides ample graphics and charts with suggested set-ups. What is a multi-room audio system and distribution network and how does it help the homeowner?

•  Multi-room audio systems include audio sources, a distribution network and speakers. Audio sources may be things such as radio receivers, satellite receivers, CD players, DVD players or Internet streaming devices.
  
• Distribution networks consist of a head end location or a local source input where audio signals enter the home and/or originate, as well as a network of wires that transport analog and digital signals throughout a home or within a room. Distribution networks are typically designed to permit. Each zone has at least one speaker in it and the audio to the speakers in each zone is typically controlled by a volume control that may or may not have extended control functionality. Control over enhanced functionality features is commonly provided with keypads and/or touch screens.
