Warner Bros. Entertainment Names Tsujihara CEO 
Time Warner Inc. has tapped Kevin Tsujihara to be the next chief executive officer of film and tv studio Warner Bros. Entertainment, effective March 1. Tsujihara will succeed Barry Meyer, who served as CEO for more than 13 years. Meyer will continue to serve as chairman of the company through 2013.
 
Tsujihara, who joined the company in 1994, has served as president of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE) Group since 2005, where he has worked to expand the company’s home video and video on demand offerings. He first joined the company in 1994.
 
“We’re at a pivotal moment in the histories of Hollywood and entertainment: technology is changing the canvas we use to create theatrical releases; home entertainment is rapidly evolving; and the definition of television now includes viewing across a wide range of devices and services,” Tsujihara said in a release. “But in my mind one thing remains clear and constant: Warner Bros.’ unmatched ability to tell stories that inspire, educate and entertain global audiences.”
 
Under Meyer’s leadership, Warner Bros. Pictures Group has grossed more than $1 billion both domestically and internationally annually, and Warner Home Video leads the industry in market share of total DVD and Blu-ray sales.
 
Time Warner Chairman and CEO Jeff Bewkes said of Tsujihara: “Kevin is one of the most effective and respected executives within Time Warner, and the right leader to ensure Warner Bros.’ preeminence into the future.”
 
Bing Vet Moves to Sound Bite Website
Audio sound bite service Hark has nabbed Bing leader Rajeev Chand to be its new director of product development. Chand will manage Hark’s website, which features the company’s product library of more than three million audio clips, and has also been given the task of enhancing the user experience. At Microsoft, Chand was in charge of the user interface framework for the Bing brand launch and ultimately managed the Bing homepage. “Adding Rajeev to our team was a huge coup for Hark,” said Hark Co-founder and CEO David Aronchick in a statement. Founded in 2007, Hark enables users to “discover, create, play and share their favorite audio moments anywhere on any device through digital embedding or via social networks.”
 
DISH Promotes Lenior to VP of Direct Marketing
Satellite TV provider DISH has appointed Martin Lenoir to be vice president of direct marketing. “As we transform DISH to a consumer-led organization, we needed to strengthen our ability to find and communicate with potential customers,” said James Moorhead, the company’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer. “Martin brings strong experience in finding prospective customers with a laser focus and he will help DISH acquire pay-TV and broadband consumers now and in the future.” Lenior has more than 12 years of experience in marketing and direct marketing. Most recently, he led direct-to-consumer marketing for the AARP Life Insurance program at New York Life Insurance Company. He also spent time at Kaiser Permanente and Capital One.
 
Dell Exec Named CEO of Lumesse 
Thomas Volk, whose career includes stints with the international offices of HP, Sybase, IDS Scheer and Dell, has been appointed CEO of Lumesse, a leader in talent management solutions. Most recently, Volk was in charge of Dell’s commercial business in the U.K., France and Germany. He is also chairman of German software companies P&I and SNP. In making the announcement, Lumesse’s Chairman Nick Discome highlighted Volk’s international business acumen adding, “Thomas has operated at the highest levels in globally successful technology businesses for many years and his strong leadership skills will ensure that Lumesse realizes the significant potential the company has.’’

Canon Announces Several Leadership Changes and Promotions
Canon U.S.A. and its parent company Canon Inc. announced several senior executive appointments and promotions to start off 2013. Canon U.S.A. announced a new slate of leaders for its wholly-owned subsidiary Canon Solutions America, which officially launched at the start of the new year. In addition, Joe Adachi was named chairman and CEO, and Toyotsugu Kuwamura was named president of Canon Solutions America. On the B2B side, Satoshi Nagata was promoted to president of Canon Information and Imaging Solutions Inc. (CIIS), a leader in office equipment and software. And Doris Higginbotham has been named president of Canon Information Technology Services Inc. (CITS), which provides support services for all small office and consumer products.
 
Polycom Hires to Bolster its Global Operations
Polycom, a leader voice and video communications solutions, appointed two new presidents to head up its global business units. Damian Artt has been named president of the Americas and Michael Alp will serve as president of the Asia Pacific region. Artt joins Polycom from software company Wind River Systems, where he served as senior vice president in charge of sales and services. Wind River Systems was acquired by Intel in 2009. Alp most recently served as vice president of backup and recovery systems for the Asia Pacific and Japan region of EMC Corp., a cloud computing company. “The industry is transforming rapidly, and Polycom is in a unique position to accelerate the adoption of video collaboration, enabling businesses to see benefits such as significant productivity gains, improved communications and better employee engagement,” Artt said in a release.
