Opposes E-Waste Legislation in Minnesota and Illinois On March 5, CEA filed a letter with the Illinois Senate Environment and Energy Committee opposing the Electronic Scrap Recycling Act (SB 1583). The bill, which was introduced in the Illinois Senate on February 9 would adopt a statewide e-waste statute. CEA believes that administering these statutes would be a significant burden to the state government. Rather than enacting individual state statutes, CEA strongly believes that a national solution is the most appropriate means to address this public policy challenge.
