Alias, Brand Names, Subsidiary Companies, and Parent Companies

An alias is an alternate name that your company may be classified as. Aliases help us search for a company's name in our system. Examples include company abbreviations (i.e. CEA) or a "doing business as" (dba) name. The alias feature also helps us when matching our CEA member records to our CES exhibitor records.

A brand name is any product brand that your company produces but is different from the name of your company. This should not be confused with a subsidiary company, which can be entered in the next step of the application.

A subsidiary is a separate company that is wholly owned by your company. All subsidiaries receive CEA member benefits through their parent company. Therefore, subsidiaries should be included in the calculation of annual revenue when determining the CEA membership dues level for your company.

A parent is a separate company that wholly owns your company. Parent companies do not receive CEA benefits through their subsidiary companies.
